Peace building

our peacebuilding program is dedicated to countering violent extremism and fostering resilient communities through the transformative power of arts, culture, and youth engagement. We leverage creative expression and cultural initiatives to bridge divides, promote understanding, and cultivate a sense of shared identity. Our approach includes organizing arts-based workshops, cultural festivals, and youth-led projects that encourage dialogue, collaboration, and positive community engagement. By empowering young people and harnessing the unifying force of arts and culture, we aim to build a foundation of resilience and mutual respect that can counteract extremist ideologies and foster a more peaceful and inclusive society.

DigiSive

Parindey launched DigiSive, a transformative project under AHA! Awareness with Human Action, funded by the European Union and implemented in partnership with a consortium of allies. DigiSive, derived from ‘digital’ and ‘cohesive,’ is dedicated to equipping youth with essential tools to confront online hate and violence, which often induce fear and deter individuals from engaging in public discourse.

Besides virtual and in-person training sessions, “Your Comment Matters” awareness series and discussions on religion and digital dynamics in Pakistan, as well as the role of youth and social media in the post-COVID world, were integral components of DigiSive. With a focus spanning from Sindh to Gilgit Baltistan, DigiSive has successfully trained 169 participants, fostering inclusive and peaceful digital communities. Its mission revolves around countering digital violence and fostering resilience, thereby empowering individuals to express their opinions confidently while actively participating in constructive public debates.

“DigiSive has been a game-changer for me. Before joining the program, I often felt overwhelmed and helpless in the face of online hate and misinformation. The workshops provided me with practical tools and strategies to not only protect myself but also to engage constructively in online discussions. I’ve learned how to critically evaluate sources, report harmful content, and promote positive dialogue. The collaborative environment and support from the facilitators made me feel empowered and connected. I now approach online interactions with a renewed sense of confidence and responsibility, and I’m committed to using my voice to foster a more inclusive and respectful digital space.”

Jaari Fellowship

The Trauma-Centered Jaari Fellowship stands as a powerful testament to unity and empowerment, embodying a transformative journey for women across Pakistan. Jaari, an IFA-funded initiative, aims to build a women’s peacebuilding regional network, fostering sustainable peace and resilience. Through impactful sessions and a 12-hour virtual training program followed by a 3-day retreat, Jaari cultivates a profound sisterhood among its participants, providing tools for healing, resilience, and empowerment.

Participants engage in morning reflections, meditation, and sound baths, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and collective care. The fellowship delves into topics such as gender mainstreaming, feminist leadership, movement building, and negotiation skills, all grounded in trauma-informed principles. From understanding parliamentary advocacy to creating a Saheli circle, Jaari emphasizes solidarity and sisterhood, empowering women to amplify their voices as peacebuilders and advocates. In a society facing challenges such as racism, crimes against women, early marriages, and labor exploitation, Jaari serves as a beacon of hope, offering light in darkness.

The fellowship seamlessly integrates virtual and in-person sessions, facilitating regional network building with women peacebuilders from Nepal. In Islamabad, 15 women from diverse backgrounds convene for three days of capacity building and learning, strengthening their resolve to navigate their pasts and embrace a future of strength and solidarity. Through its comprehensive approach, Jaari exemplifies the transformative power of collective healing and resilience, embodying the journey of “Aman ka safar jaari rahe” – women building peace together.
