Thar women Innovation Lab

With the support of GRÓ GEST, Parindey led the implementation of the project in the Tharparkar district of the Sindh province in southeastern Pakistan, with local women and minority women as the primary beneficiaries. They trained 60 women through the creation of a Women’s Innovation Lab, as well as through digital and financial literacy workshops. This was in addition to Parindey’s signature menstrual and mental health awareness sessions which empowers local women to break free of traditional income cycles.

Gender Equity Parindey

The goal of the project was to contribute to women’s digital and financial literacy through the Thar Innovation Lab, a process of immersive capacity-building workshops for leveraging digital platforms. These interventions were meant to heighten the awareness of women participants, empowering them to assert their agency and address their personal needs with confidence. During the project, additional smartphones were provided to the members of the Thar Innovation Lab, who typically come from poorer households. Members then attended several sessions in a Financial Literacy Module on basic concepts of financial management. This included information about the banking system, accessing loans, insurance, and government schemes for financial assistance of the urban poor.

Following this module, a Digital Literacy Module taught women the basics of navigating smartphones, using the internet on their phones, and using Instagram, Facebook, and e-commerce sites for sustaining an online business.

Shufnit

In an endeavor to enhance the well-being and economic empowerment of the Broghil valley community, ‘Shufknit’ was launched today by Parindey and YAY (youth accelerating youth). This one-month women’s fellowship program aimed at uplifting economic prospects, promoting wellness, and enhancing livelihoods.

Parindey's Gender Equity Shufnit

Shufknit introduced the empowering art of crocheting, a tradition deeply rooted in various cultures and communities, to participants from both Boroghil and Gojal. Led by an inspiring vision and driven by the dreams of women from Boroghil and Gojal, Shufknit embarked on a journey of skill-building and camaraderie. The program symbolized celebrating the diverse skills of women and fostering community engagement with the support and warm embrace of the Sost community.

Women for Women

Women and girls in Afghanistan represent one of the most marginalized groups, facing unprecedent denial of human rights. Since the Taliban take-over in August 2021, the de facto authorities have created a system based on the complete removal of women from the public and civic space, institutionalizing discrimination within the country’s existing political, legal, social and cultural structures.

The Afghan women immigrant’s life in Pakistan is not much difference due to lack of opportunities, legal status and safe spaces. Parindey for past 6 months is working with group of 30 Afghan women in Karachi, Pakistan to enhance their capacity to avail academic opportunities. Looking at the current situation where Afghans with no legal status are asked to leave the country; Parindey aims to work with these 30-40 Afghan women and teach them digital and entrepreneur skills for them to build and generate their own income.

WFW will give enterprising women the knowledge, networks and access they need to launch and scale successful businesses. By promoting women’s economic opportunities and ensuring that women have the capabilities and resources needed to participate in the economy. Through facilitated  learning, women will further their business skills, learn from mentors, and execute their business plan, ensuring long-lasting results.  Parindey seeks to promote collective economic prosperity and global stability by creating a holistic, inclusive learning community to advance the development of Immigrant Afghani women entrepreneurs.

Feminist City Tour

City from her lens” stands as a testament to Parindey’s commitment to showcasing the contributions of women in urban development while reclaiming public spaces. Parindey had the pleasure of partnering with Dastaan Tours to host a captivating Karachi city tour.

The initiative aimed to unveil the multifaceted roles women play in shaping the city’s narrative and driving its progress forward. Participants were treated to an enriching exploration of Karachi’s vibrant streets, uncovering the stories of resilience, innovation, and empowerment embedded within its bustling neighborhoods. As women take center stage in redefining urban landscapes, this tour provided a unique opportunity to witness their impact firsthand. With each step, attendees were invited to reflect on the transformative power of feminist perspectives in shaping inclusive and equitable cities. As we look forward, Parindey extends an open invitation to join us on our next Feminist City Tour—an immersive journey celebrating the resilience and agency of women in urban spaces.
